Coming briefly up for air, I'll take this chance to post that there will indeed be a sequel to The Cold Minds in 2009. I've signed the contract (a happy moment) and am writing hard.
The working title is The Dark Reaches. It takes Iain and Linnea far beyond where they've ever been before. Working on it is completely engrossing—and enormous fun. I can't wait to see how it comes out!

Thanks, Tia! It's great to see you here. I'm hoping to post more often than this, obviously, but the time is hard to find at the moment—along with the discipline to finish hours of writing and then, well, write something else. Lots to learn.
I got my first advance copy of The Cold Minds, and it looks great, especially shelved next to The Hidden Worlds. Two books. . . . I'm still new enough at this that I can't help noting the "firsts"!
